In a time of economic despair, Madyson Nucci has found a
sense of security with her waitressing job at Tre Amici’s Italian restaurant.
As a part-time server, she has little to complain about when it comes to the
economy affecting her job.
“The demographic at Amici’s is mainly elderly people,” Nucci
said, “They are retired and can afford to wine and dine at an expensive
restaurant.”
Nucci was not hit hard when the economy began to plummet.
Since Amici’s attracts an older, wealthier crowd, her income has remained
consistent. She has little to complain about when it comes to her hours being
cut or her tips diminishing. Tables are filled on the weekends, which makes
Nucci one happy employee.
“The restaurant is more upscale,” Nucci said, “With
expensive bills come larger tips.”
Nucci is a college student who needs all she can earn to
afford the luxuries of a 21 year old female. She has gained much experience
from being a waitress at Amici’s and holds no fear for what the future may
bring. She looks to apply none elsewhere because Amici’s has gained her loyalty
and trust.
“The people who come in to eat were not affected by the
economy’s downward spiral, so the employees of Amici’s were not affected as
well,” Nucci said.
